Gravity Fed Settling Chamber
with Drainage Options

Illustration

The settling chamber is gravity fed from the pond.
The pump system draws off of the settling chamber and pumps to a main biological filter.

Shown here are two methods of draining waste from the settling chamber (where gravity allows):
Note the (dotted line) standpipe attached to the drain line. One simply unscrews, or slips the standpipe out of the drain port for removal of waste.
Also shown is a second method using a valve (large arrow) with an extension to access this remotely located in-ground valve. See Illustratio

When gravity drainage away from the bottom of the settling chamber is not possible, a sump chamber can be installed to sump this water to a waste water location (or your garden!!)
