Measure out from the corner of the property to
the furthest finish point of the water feature.
We highly recommend
checking local code requirements for set-backs from the property
line. The following pictures (provided by Savio engineering) show
the foundation of the emanating elevated area of the water feature
directly up against the fence. This, in most areas might constitute
an easment code violation. Most easments are typically 3 ft.
i.e.: block construction should begin 3 ft. away from the fence.
One undesireable consequence of constructiong directly up against
a fence is the premature rotting of fence material as a result.

Rectangular area marked in orange is the
location to dig for placement of waterfall well. |
|
In addition to
moving the concrete blocks away from the fence, we would recommend
the extra work of digging a 6" deep by 10" wide trench,
filling the trench with concrete mix, placing 3/8" diameter
rebar into each cell of the concrete block in a vertical orientation.
Placing blocks on this wet poured footing and adding rebar with
concrete, filling the open cells of the block construction will
prevent blow-outs and eventual degredation of the construction
site. Doing it right the first time is a minimum maintenance
aspect to the water feature. |
